Tours & Instruction

Bill is pleased to offer personalized, one-on-one, in the field tours / workshops to any of the prime shooting locations here in Florida. Who better to show you some of these locations than someone who lives in Florida and photographs them on a regular basis?

Many of our Florida locations are excellent areas to learn techniques as the subjects are plentiful and in many locations the subjects are quite accustom to seeing people and having them moving around.

All workshops are tailored to your interest, skill levels and desires. By working one-on-one you are free to schedule a time that is convenient to you. Topics can include but are not limited to:

  • Exposure & Metering
  • Flash
  • Field Techniques
  • Image Processing
  • Digital Workflow
  • Color Management

Locations can include almost anywhere in Florida that is accessible. Here are some of the more popular locations (in no particular order):

  • Ft. Desoto

  • Estero Lagoon
  • Corkscrew Swamp
  • Everglades NP
  • Florida Bay

All water-based (offshore) tours will be conducted on a 2007 Ranger Saltwater Flats boat. This boat was selected and outfitted especially for photography. A flats boat is extremely stable in the water and it can get into very shallow areas. The boat is equipped with a four-stroke motor (they’re quieter), Garmin Marine GPS & Depth Sounder, electric trolling motor and hydraulic shallow water anchoring system. Both the trolling motor and anchoring system can be operated from anywhere on the boat via remote control eliminating the need to move around and possibly spook the subject(s). One can shoot from the deck, a bow mounted swiveling casting chair, or from sitting atop the polling platform, which is 39” above the deck of the boat. This is an ideal spot to shoot flight shots from. The boat has no top (Bimini Top, T-Top, Cobia Nest, etc.) or side rails to interfere with your photography.

Cancellations made within 30 days of the scheduled workshop date will not receive a refund unless that date is booked by someone else, then the refund will be less the non-refundable deposit.
